CORONAVIRUS UPDATE FROM THE TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council of Michiana Shores is sharing information that has been provided to us regarding the coronavirus pandemic and the ways in which we can help to prevent its spread within our community.
The Federal government, the WHO, the CDC and the Governor of the State of Indiana have all issued warnings and directives that will help to minimize the spread of COVID-19, which may cause severe illness, including illness resulting in death, particularly among the elderly and those with severe underlying health conditions such as heart disease, lung disease, asthma and diabetes.
This requires aggressive response measures to slow the spread of the disease and mitigate its impact.
Governor Holcomb has issued Orders 20-34 and 20-35 dealing with the opening up the State of Indiana, AND the pause that is being taken. Please be aware of the steps that are suggested and comply as best you can in order to keep health and safety of the citizens of our Town a priority.
Social distancing, wearing face masks, and most importantly, following strict hand washing protocols.
The Town will continue to hold meetings remotely for some time, while providing access to the public to participate by way of some communication platform.
